WhatsApp stickers are one of the most popular features of WhatsApp. These stickers are used to express our reactions, feelings in a funny, satirical, aggressive, etc. way during a conversation. Just as we use emoticons for our reactions and expressions, stickers do the same job as emoticons.
In the latest version 2.18, users can see these sticker updates. These stickers are displayed in the Emoji section. Originally there was only one sticker pack pre-installed, but now we can download thousands of stickers from the Google Play Store and add them to our WhatsApp. We can also make stickers from our photos, GIFs, etc. In the following section, you will find the details on how to make WhatsApp stickers.
In this section, we are going to see how to make stickers for WhatsApp using Sticker.ly, one of the best apps to make stickers for WhatsApp. Let’s review the steps to create stickers for WhatsApp using the Sticker.ly app.
Total time: 4 minutes
Step one: Install and open the Sticker.ly application.
The first step is to download the Sticker.ly application from the Google Play Store. Once the download is complete, install it on your Android phone, as this application is specifically designed for the Android operating system.
Once the installation is complete, click on it to open it.
When you open the application, you will see a screen like the one below. At the bottom of the screen, you will see a plus icon to create new stickers for WhatsApp. Press the plus (+) sign as shown in the figure below.
Step two: Select the type of sticker you want to create.
After you install the program and click on the plus (+) icon, a screen will appear where you can choose the type of sticker you want to create. Basically, there are two formats here for making stickers. One is a normal one that has no moments or movements. And another one is animated, which will have a few moments where it will be present.
Here, I want to make a regular sticker. So click on the Normal option. If desired, you can also choose an animated sticker type.
Step three: Select the photo you want to use as a sticker.
When you select the sticker type, the photos will be opened on your Android device. Click on an image as shown in the picture above. You can also select multiple images to create stickers. But it’s a little more complicated than making a single image sticker. It is therefore preferable to choose a sticker.
Step four: Select the method for cropping the image
After you click on the image, it will appear on the screen to be cropped. Here you have basically three options for framing the image. It’s
Auto: This setting automatically trims the image when the face detection is clear. Sometimes the frame is not perfect for your image if you need to make the whole image into a sticker.
Handbook: This option allows you to crop your image based on the movements you make with your fingers by hand. You can select the part you want to cut by touching it with your finger.
Harvest: It just cuts the image into a rectangular/square shape.
Step 5: Define reframing
After trimming with your finger, the selected area is trimmed and displayed on the screen for further adjustment. When your photo is perfectly cropped with clear outlines, click the Next option. Otherwise, click the Adjust button until you get perfect outlines for the image.
I think it’s best to use Adjust to get sharp edges, because a cropped image usually doesn’t have perfect edges. Click on the Configure option.
You can delete or add a part of the image by clicking on the corresponding option of the two available.
The Delete option removes the part you touched with your finger, as shown in the figure below.
Clicking the Restore option restores the area you touched with your finger.
When you find that the desired image has been cropped with perfect edges, click the Apply button, as shown in the image above.
Step six: Add a slogan and save the image
After clicking on the Apply option in the previous step, the sticker is now ready and you need to save it with the tag. Enter any text in the tag line. If you want to add a new tag, enter it and click Save. You can also use existing label strings for labels. Select one of them and click on Save.
Seventh step: Choose the packaging for your stickers
Now you have to choose the packaging for the stickers. You can choose an existing package or create a new one. I want to create a new package. Click on the new package.
Step 8: Click the Add to WhatsApp button
We’re done now. All you have to do is add the stickers you make to your WhatsApp. If you have created a new package, you will need at least three stickers to enable the Add to WhatsApp option. Until you have created at least three stickers, you cannot add them to your WhatsApp.
Once the Add to WhatsApp option is enabled after you create three stickers, click it to add your created stickers to your WhatsApp.
After you click Add to WhatsApp, you will be asked to confirm: Want to add Danya to WhatsApp?
Message: Dhanya is the name I gave to my sticker pack. This name varies depending on the name you specified in the Tag section.
Now click on the Add option as shown in the figure below.
Here’s how. Once you click the Add button, these sticker packs will be added to your WhatsApp.
You can now see these stickers in your WhatsApp. To view and send the stickers you created, on your Android phone, select
>Open WhatsApp and select the contact you would like to send the stickers to.
>Click on the sticker icon in the emoji area of the
keyboard menu >Click on the package you created. Then these stickers will be opened
> Click on a sticker to send it.
